Healthy Lifestyles

UCCEDD has partnered with community organizations to implement the Healthy Lifestyles curriculum. Healthy Lifestyles is an evidenced-based, holistic wellness workshop designed for people with disabilities. It embodies a self-determination model and gives participants tools to evaluate their current life, identify areas they’d like to improve, and make positive changes in those areas. Living Independent From Tobacco (LIFT) Train the Trainer Workshop

A 3-hour workshop to train professionals on how to implement the evidence-based LIFT curriculum workshops for people with disabilities who want to stop using tobacco. Emergency Preparedness for People with Disabilities and their Caregivers

A 4-hour training for people with disabilities and their caregivers to provide insight into local hazards and how people living with disabilities can best prepare for them. Participants will explore best practices surrounding disaster preparations and planning. In addition, the training will help individuals and caregivers create their own toolkits. Promoting Health & Wellness for People with Disabilities

A 3-hour workshop that covers health disparities faced by people with disabilities, their health promotion needs, and health care provider activities that promote health and wellness for people with disabilities. An Introduction to Disability & Making Training Accessible (Also offered as a webinar)

A 1-hour training presentation for audiences not as familiar with the disability community or their culture. Participants will learn to understand and know types of disabilities, discuss the use of people first language, and learn how to plan and conduct accessible and inclusive events. Mammography Technologist Training

UCCEDD also hosts free, day-long training seminars for mammography technologists. Seminar participants increase their knowledge of the health care needs of women with disabilities and identify ways to improve the accessibility of their services and facility. Learn the Signs, Act Early

This CDC program aims to improve early identification of children with autism and other developmental disabilities so children and families can get the services and support they need.
