UC UCEDD’s Transition Booster Session Explains Estate Planning and Special Needs Trusts for Young People with Developmental Disabilities

Parents, siblings, caregivers and professionals recently gathered at UC UCEDD’s Transition Booster Session to learn about Estate Planning and Special Needs Trusts. The June 18 session was led by Janet Pecquet, Attorney at Law, Beckman Weil Shepardson LLC, and featured a panel of family members to help answer questions.

The in-depth, interactive session explained different ways to save money for the future expenses of a child with disabilities. It also explained different types of special needs trusts, and Health Care Directives and Wills. To watch a replay of the session, click here. The Transition Bootcamp Booster Sessions share vital information with families, caregivers and professionals with the belief and goal that people with disabilities deserve choices on how to live, work, and participate in their communities. The one- and two-hour evening sessions are led by experts on topics as varied as SSI/SSDI/Medicaid, guardianship, housing, and more. The next all-day Transition Boot Camp is being scheduled for Friday, November 6, at the Sharonville Convention Center.
