Lynne Fogel Bio

Why did you join CCHMC/DDBP? I was recruited to the Ohio Family 2 Family Health Information Center because of my experience advocating for my child with special healthcare needs. I had taken a career break for some years to be an effective advocate for her, and getting paid for supporting families seemed like a wonderful new career path.

What do you like most about your job? Helping families like mine to navigate their way through the maze of services offered in Ohio for special needs in healthcare and other areas. (And helping them to look beyond services at their own strengths and the ways that community can enrich their lives!)

How has your life changed since becoming involved with CCHMC/DDBP? My work life and my personal life were always separate and unrelated before.  Now they are connected in so many ways this can be challenging but it is also very rewarding and gives me a renewed sense of purpose in both areas.

What’s your greatest achievement? Starting a support group for Cerebral Palsy in Columbus

What do you like to do in your spare time? Walking, reading, scrapbooking, birdwatching
