The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) is an international treaty that recognizes and promotes the rights of people with disabilities from around the world. When countries sign on to the treaty, they agree to follow the principals and obligations described in the document. The CRPD is based on general human rights and was largely inspired by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

UCEDD Hosts Advocate from Pakistan
In collaboration with several community organizations, UC UCEDD recently had the honor to host a disability advocate from Pakistan. Yasir Hyatt Khan was accepted to an international exchange program through the American Council to learn more about employment programs for people with disabilities in the United States.
University of Cincinnati Student Launches Hashtag Campaign to Start Conversation on Accessibility
Emily Ash, 24, is a University of Cincinnati student with a disability. She uses a wheelchair or sometimes a power scooter to get around campus and her neighborhood of Clifton. A few weeks ago, Emily was on campus and encountered a ramp with a very steep incline and a strange ridge at the top and a bump at the bottom.
