“Foundations in Developmental Disabilities” is a new course to be offered in fall 2017 at the University of Cincinnati, School of Social Work. For the last two years, the School of Social Work and UCCEDD/LEND have worked together to get this off the ground. It’s a cross-listed, 3-credit hour course open to both undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines. Â
The course can be taken as a single course for credit or as the first class of the undergraduate certificate in developmental disabilities. The undergraduate certificate in DD consists of four, 3-hr courses:
1) Foundations in Developmental Disabilities
2) Theories in Developmental Disabilities and Human Development
3) Policy and Leadership in Developmental Disabilities
4) Best Practice Approaches in Developmental Disabilities
