During a break between innings, the Reds fans helped to celebrate Amy’s impressive accomplishment. The Cincinnati Reds have numerous connections to disability organizations in and around the community. For more than a decade, Amy has infused passion and dedication into her role as a vital support for families. She draws upon her own knowledge and experience as a parent of a teenage son with a disability. Navigating the health and service systems can be extremely challenging for families of children and adults with disabilities. Amy has responded to the needs of community members through her efforts with the Rubinstein Taybi Syndrome Support Group and the Ohio Regional Respite Committee. She was a driving force in the creation of UCEDD’s respite resources and works hard to distribute information to underserved populations. Amy is also a founding member of the Parent Group Collaborative of Greater Cincinnati and serves actively on the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) Family Advisory Council.
